View Upcoming Concerts In iTunes 2
iTunes
Hey
I have found a really cool iTunes plugin that lets you find out more about upcoming converts and albums from your iTunes music collection. Its called iConcertCal. It is designed to run in iTunes and takes a mixture of iCal and an normal iTunes visualizer to produce a very cool output.
Once as you have followed the installer instructions and you have picked iConcertCal from the menu and brought up the visualizer you will be presented with a normal looking calender pane. Once as you have entered your city, and State if applicable. The program will search the internet for shows and upcoming CD releases.

The tabs across the top are: Shows, CD Releases, and Friend shows. They come up on the grid as normal. If you hover over any item you get more information about the artist at the top of the window.

There is also a whole load of options, that enable you to fine tune the settings. The preferences enable you to change the library file it looks at if you have it located in a different place (like my). As well as this there is also an option to sync it with iCal, so you can view it with your other calenders.
Check it out. It is quite useful, although it isn’t jaw dropping. Its a very good implementation of what you can do with plugins. It is also Windows compatible. If you want it installed on a windows machine. Best of all it is free.
If you want to keep up with the latests post from Mac Tricks And Tips I recommend you subscribe to the RSS Feed.

CoverSutra seems pretty cool, but I downloaded a free app a while ago that I haven’t seen on any “best app list.” It’s called Sizzling Keys. Maybe I’m a little out of date on this one… Basically it just provides customizable hot keys for controlling itunes from any app. Obviously CoverSutra has stuff SK doesn’t but quicksilver seems like it can do most of that stuff anyway.
