Times - A Different Way To View RSS Feeds

Hey

Quite a while ago I mentioned the Top RSS Readers for Mac. Well there is certainly another reader that should join the list and this is Times. It takes RSS reading to a whole new level, and it really shows off the power of the Mac code libraries. I feel a Delicious Generation application. It is based round reading a newspaper, and is laid out in a similar way.

As you can see from the image below it is very newspaper like. You have the main column on the left and small columns on the right. Every image and link is an RSS feed which you can click through and view the full article. Images shown below are all taken from RSS feeds and displayed automatically.

There is a lot of built in RSS feeds which you can use and customize. The layout of each feed is customizable. From the image below there a lot of visual effects which happen on the screen. Pages fold in an out. Its a whole different way to view and use RSS feeds.

There are a couple of problems with this app, for example it does use a lot of CPU resources with the visual effects and is a bit on the slow side. But other than these small quirks (which will probably be ironed out), it is a well rounded app. You do need Leopard due to the visual effects used. It does cost $30 but there is a free 15 day trial. Have ago see what you think although for the time being I am going to stick with Mail.

If you want to keep up with the latests post from Mac Tricks And Tips I recommend you subscribe to the RSS Feed. To find out more about RSS check out the help page form more information.

It is a little buggy, but after first launch it seems fine. What OS are you using?
