This is just an update for the MacTricksAndTips widget. If you don’t already know the widget provides a full RSS syndication of this site on your dashboard. It is designed so that people who don’t have RSS readers can still get all of the latest content on your dashboard. This post is going to be a little bit of news about how this widget is doing and a new release that is going to happen in the next couple of weeks.
Firstly it is having big success on many download sites. For example it is currently featured on:
It has been downloaded over 1,000 times. I am amazed at how popular it has become. All of the new readers using the widget, welcome.
Since it has become more popular I am decided to update it and add in a couple more features. Many are a great improvement. It is going to include:
- Length Slider, so you can only see the headlines.
- Updater, so you get the latest updates for the widget.
- Longer designer. A lot of the content is vertical so it has been slightly stretched.
- Updated to reflect the bluer design of the site.
- Search, you can search this site from the dashboard.
It is going to look similar to this. I just have a couple of other bits and bobs which I want to include and change.
