A bit earlier today I mentioned a new sponsor OneEyedGoldfish. He sells Pages templates for you to use in Apple’s iWork application Pages, the desktop publishing software. Although I am not a big user of Pages, some people I know swear by it. Anyway, OEGF would lik e to give away 3 copies of the full template pack worth £40 or about $78 for those people in the USA. I have had a quickly look through a couple of the designs and they a pretty cool. Especially since they work so well with the application. It would take me some serious Photoshop work to get anywhere near.

To be in with a chance of winning just leave a comment below. You can put anything you want, but make sure it is a good sentence such as “Pick me, I want to win”, otherwise the spam filter will pick it up and you entry will not be recorded. David will also like your ideas on new template designs that he will create. Although this won’t increase or decrease your chance of winning, he would like to hear you thoughts. There is 3 copies to giveaway, which means 3 people will be in with a chance of winning.

The end date is 16th July, 8PM GMT, which is about 3PM US Eastern.

They’ve got some cool designs. I´d like to get some of those :D
A good idea to add to the portfolio would be some tech-designs. So far there is a lot of colorful stuff and thats nice, but some more tech-oriented or minimalistic designs would add more depth to the sortiment.

I discovered OneEyedGoldfish.com’s templates LAST year (2008) when i was really engaged in prepping for my one-on-one Apple lessons (best deal on planet!!) and avidly learning Pages. BUT…i did not buy the templates then, and in revisiting the site this morning, and also THEN discovering the blurb here (via Google search on OneEyedGoldfish) with the “icreate” code discount of 25% — i decided to buy the WHOLE set vs one or two sets.

This is a terrific bargain this company makes available. Immediate evidence: my time is most often worth $185-$350US hr — depending what part of my talents I’m tapping. Just last night i spent over 2 hours futzing around prepping a “white paper” template in Pages that is still only in truly very rough, rough draft stage. It needs probably at least six more hours of my time to really use, and even with that will definitely NOT be professionally designed by any means.

Viola! With my purchase of the OneEyedGoldfish template sets today — I’ve more than enough ideas and head-starts now with ready-made and incredibly attractive format options to put my time into the WRITING of the content, my real purpose and interest – vs into the “housing” and design of the carrier-vehicle.

THIS is the type of outsourcing I LIKE for Americans! (and for anyone else…) and it’s a great practice of capitalism to pass onto the talented compensation for what THEY do best — freeing me up for more of what I do best.
