Ok, Here is one for yall to solve. My Imac has just recently come down with an Error. When soon I got the :

"The System extension '/System/Library/Extensions/CDSDAudioCaptureSupport.kext' was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update"

After getting that I googled it because obviously there is some type of disconnect with my CD drive. The disk wont come out any of those ways (I haven't yet tried a paper clip). It was suggested that I try reinstalling from the OSX disk. But currently the audio CD spins on start up but fails to come out. So I can't put the OSX disk in to repair the Error. I have screen shots of both Error Messages if someone wants to help look into this email me at nafziger10@gmail.com (Please don't abuse my email).

for now I'm going to attempt to get the disk out physically (Paperclip or credit cards... I'll update you later.

IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA..... ANY..... PLEASE CONTACT ME.

One thing you can do is if you have VMWare Fusion or Parallels installed, is to use Windows to eject the drive. Go to Windows Explorer and right-click, eject the disc. Oddly enough, I can read DVDs in Windows where Mac OS would just fail to even detect the disc.

THANKYOU! Got it out by putting a piece of paper in the driver. Read on

I put a mini disk in my brand new MacBook and got it out by folding a piece of photo paper in half. I pushed the paper in as far as I could and the drive has a gag like reflex and pushes it out. A combination of the drive ejecting the paper out (the paper had to be thick enough for the disk to grib against the ceiling of the drive) and me actually pulling the paper out got the disk out!! It takes a couple of goes but stick with it. It eventually grips to the paper and comes out. Fold the paper with the shiny side on the outside.

This is much safer the sticking a paperclip (which I read that someone has done) or trying to pull your applmac apart yourself.....

Ta Dah! Finally. After daily poking and prodding with a plastic grocery store customer card, I finally succeeded in dislodging that stupid DVD.

The only thing I did differently today was I poked and prodded with the plastic card for a minute or so before I hit the eject button.

When I hit the eject button, the disc popped right out.
