Changes - View Changes Between Files

If you do a lot of work with any type of text file you tend to find you end up with similar files. Although you can date them, andorganise them or use subversion to keep them in check. How ever you organise your files you usually end up wondering what the difference between files and folders really is. You could look through the document but that wouldn’t be veryefficient. There is a cool little application called Changes that is designed to show you the differences between text documents.

Paintbrush - Paint For The Mac

If you have every used a Windows machine you will know of paint. The best drawing tool for the PC. On a Mac we are not so lucky and don’t come which such as an application. But some clever person has made a Cocoa-based paint program for Mac OS X. Its called Paintbrush. If you are a graphic designer on a Mac it is the only program you will ever need. You won’t need Photoshop after you have used this application.

Having Fun With A Mac’s Motion Sensor

Every Mac laptop of the past couple of years has included a hard drive motion sensor. This motion sensor is designed to stop the drive and and store them away as you laptop vibrates around the room. It is useful for keeping a long lasting drive. But, like most things on a Mac and on this site, its boring to use them for there intended purpose. This post is designed to list some of the really cool applications that takes the motion sensor data and uses it to display funky graphics. Increase The Type Of Flags In Mail

I use Mail a lot. Mixed with a compulsion to keep everything tidy and organised I end up using a lot of flags, folders and other organisational tools within Mail to make sure I know where everything is and it is in the right place. This little application that I am going to talk about today is called Flagit. It is a small program/plugin for Mail that enables you to add more than one type of flag to your inbox as well as a couple of other features.

Periscope - Make Your Own Security Camera

I’m always concerned about security of my Mac. I spent a lot of money on it and I don’t want it to go missing. A while ago I mentioned about Gawker, the time lapse application, that would be very useful in using it for security cameras. Well I have stumble across a new application, Periscope, that takes your Mac and makes it into a CCTV application. Its very polished and really easy to use. It does a good job of doing something really simple and make it even simpler.
